A voice between two homelands صوتٌ بين وطنَيْنِ
Iskandar El-Dick was born in El Mina, Lebanon. He wrote his first Arabic verses in the late 1960s, then fell silent for four decades after the Six-Day War. In Berlin, in 2010, the poetry returned. Over twelve years he translated his Arabic poems into German — for his wife Felicitas, his sons Rabih and Rayan, his grandchildren, and every friend who waited patiently for a German reading.
This library gathers the bilingual editions of his work. More volumes will follow.
وُلد إسكندر الدِك في الميناء، لبنان. كتبَ قصائدهُ العربية الأولى في أواخر الستينيات، ثم سكَتَ أربعين عاماً بعد هزيمةِ حزيران. في برلين، عام ٢٠١٠، عادت الشعرية. وعلى مدى اثنَيْ عشرَ عاماً نقلَ قصائدَه العربيةَ إلى الألمانية — لزوجتهِ فيليسيتاس، ولابنَيْه ربيع وريان، ولأحفادهِ، ولكلِّ صديقٍ انتظرَ بصبرٍ قراءةً ألمانيةً.
تجمعُ هذه المكتبةُ النسخ ثنائية اللغة من أعماله. وستتبعُها مجلداتٌ أخرى.
